Spa scenting works when reception, relaxation and wet areas are treated as separate zones with separate output. Treatment rooms are dosed lowest, or left to the therapist's own oils entirely, so nothing competes with the treatment. Reception and relaxation areas carry the signature.
Zone the building before choosing a fragrance
A spa contains four very different air problems in one envelope: a dry reception, a humid pool hall, enclosed changing rooms and small, quiet treatment rooms.

Fragrance that supports the therapy
Therapists work with their own oils. The ambient scent should sit underneath those — clean, soft and unobtrusive — rather than adding a second personality to the room.
Humidity and consumption
Humid air carries fragrance further, so pool halls and steam areas usually need less output than their floor area suggests. Getting this right is the main saving available in a spa specification.
